How to place goods under a customs procedure?
In order to comply with the legal obligations and to place goods under a customs procedure, a customs declaration needs to be lodged. This should happen in two cases: and goods intended for export - must be placed under the export procedure (Article 269 UCC). Declarations shall be made using electronic data-processing techniques (Article 6 UCC)
Can a person place goods under a customs procedure based on a simplified declaration?
Declarants are allowed to place goods under a customs procedure on the basis of a simplified declaration where either some particulars or some documents are missing at the time of lodging the customs declaration. For the non-regular use of the simplified declaration, no authorisation is required.
Can I Lodge a customs declaration for a non-tariff exemption?
It is only possible to lodge customs declarations for which non-tariff exemptions apply pursuant to Articles 23 and 25 Regulation (EC) No 1186/2009 (Duty Free Regulation), i.e. commercial consignments up to 150 euros and gifts up to 45 euros, in the EU country where the transport ends.
Where should a customs declaration be lodged?
In general, the declarant should be established in the customs territory of the Union. The customs office where the customs declaration should be lodged is the office responsible for the place where the goods are presented to customs, except whenever a centralised clearance authorisation is used (see point 4.3).
